How to Bulk Turn Off or Disable Comments on WordPress Pages

When you create a page, page comments are turned on by default. It can be troublesome if you create a lot of pages and sometimes forget to turn off comments. A user recently asked us if there was an easy way to remove comments from a page. This article will teach you how to turn off or disable comments on WordPress pages.

You can use WordPress to build a website other than a blog, use pages to create all of your website content ( see the difference between pages and posts ), create custom post types, and create separate pages for blog posts. Now you want users to be able to comment on your blog, but pages and other parts of the site are prohibited from commenting.

To turn off page comments, the first thing you need to do is to install the No Page Comment plugin. After enabling it, click “Settings” – “No Page Comment” to configure the plugin.

If you only want to disable comments for new pages, just select Comments and Trackbacks behind ” Pages ” and click the “Update Settings” button. If you also want to close the comments on the previous page, click the two buttons “Disable All Comments” and “Disable All Trackbacks” behind ” Page ” under “Modify All Current”.

OK, now your WordPress page will no longer have comments.

As a reminder, even if you have disabled comments for all pages, you can still enable comments for a specific page if you want. You need to edit the page where you want to open comments, click “Display Options” in the upper right corner of the edit page, and click “Discussion” in the drop-down menu to select the item.

When “Discussion” is selected, scroll to the bottom of the page, and you will see a new discussion module, which allows you to enable or disable the comment function of this page by checking it.

Click to check “Allow comments” to enable the comment function of this page, and then update or publish this page, the comment box will be displayed on the page.

Hope this article helped you turn off comments on WordPress pages. If you’re using “pages” to build your WordPress site, then you can also take a look at how to add categories and tags to pages and how WordPress displays related pages.
